APRIL 2018 - OBWA NETWORKING AND DINNER MEETING
The Orillia Business Women’s Association (OBWA) meets every second Wednesday of the Month (September thru June) at the Best Western Mariposa INN and Conference Centre at 400 Memorial Ave. Orillia for networking events, fun and delicious food.
OBWA PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Oh my gosh! By the time we have our April dinner meeting it will be less than a month until the Woman/Young Woman of the Year Gala. We are putting the final touches to details for this special night. It is a lot of work for the Gala Committee but it is so worth it. We have amazing and dedicated women on the committee. Just a reminder that you still have time to become a sponsor which you can do online (for as little as $50; great “advertising) or to donate a door prize. Check the website to see who some of the sponsors are so far. Very impressive and we are so appreciative because without the sponsors the event would not happen. If you are planning on attending the gala, don’t wait to get your tickets as they will go very quickly as soon as the nominees are announced. Tickets can only be purchased online. In other news, we have grown in membership again this past month. Our growth is very exciting. Comments from first time guests at the March dinner included how diverse the businesses are and how welcoming the group is.
I leave you with a few words from Stephen Hawking who recently passed away, “remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. It all matters that you just don’t give up.”
