OBWA JANUARY TRADE SHOW
The Orillia Business Women’s Association (OBWA) meets every second Wednesday of the Month (September thru June) at the Best Western PLUS Mariposa INN and Conference Centre at 400 Memorial Ave. Orillia for networking events, fun and delicious food.
OBWA PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE As you read this message everyone is counting down to New Year's Eve and 2020. Where did this year go? For some it may have been a very stressful year with losses and disappointments. For others, it may have been a great year with many successes. With the new year looming ahead I am sure you are planning and preparing to try and make this year as amazing as possible. Let us help you and remember that you have many resources with your OBWA membership and this includes a free business listing with Shop Orillia. Keep posting personal and business requests so we can help you. We are excited to see what everyone is up to this new year. Maybe some of you have changed businesses or added businesses or retired. Please take the time during networking to chat with everyone as this is the best way to get to know one another. And don't forget that as a paid member you can put your information on the ppt slide presentation.
Our first dinner meeting of 2020 is, of course, the Business Showcase but don't forget that we will still have the dinner and guest speaker. So, even if you aren't participating as a vendor you are welcome to come for the usual program. Show your support of the members and let us support you. Please read the entire bulletin so you know what to expect.
If you have any questions please reach out to any of the executive members. In closing, I am sharing a wonderful quote from Neil Gaiman, "I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're Doing Something."

WENDY TIMPANO
General Manager, Orillia Area Community Development Corp. (CDC)
Wendy is passionate about contributing to positive change and growth in rural communities. As General Manager of the Orillia Area CDC, she enjoys helping people achieve their goals through entrepreneurship.
Prior to joining the CDC, she served as Executive Director for the Community Foundation of Orillia & Area, where she helped local charities meet community needs and build sustainable futures.
Throughout her career as both a business owner and employee, she has gained extensive experience in the fields of project/event management, community relations, marketing and communications.
Wendy volunteers with the Kiwanis Club of Orillia, is the Accommodations Chair for the Orillia 2020 Ontario Winter Games, and sits on 6 other local and regional committee’s and Boards.
