President’s Message

Hello Ladies!!!

I hope everyone is doing well. September is here along with new beginnings. School is starting back up, not sure if that’s a good thing or not. I’m sure many of us are a little nervous about that.

Your OBWA Executive has been working through the summer keeping our fingers on COVID news as it happens that will or will not allow us to resume our Business Dinner Meetings. Many thanks to Sheila Haiden, Shelle Hossack, Susan Zaroski, Andrea Sullivan, Ronda Hales, and Leah Cavanaugh.

Sheila Haiden (VP) and I will be meeting with Ruth from the Best Western PLUS Mariposa Inn this Thursday Sept 11th to discuss what the venue would look like if we did resume dinner meetings, so keep turned for that news.

Until we are clear on what our in person dinner meetings will look like, we will be holding Zoom Member Meetings ( your Executive will also continue to meet by Zoom) Wednesday September 16th at 730pm and Wednesday October 14th at 730pm. Watch our Orillia Business Women’s Association Group Facebook for reminders and the link to the Zoom meetings. We will be holding a Facebook Poll to see how you all feel about an in person dinner meeting for November. In spite of COVID, we need to celebrate our Young Women and Women of the Year Nominees and selected Young Woman and Woman of the Year for 2020, so we will be holding a Gala in lieu of our Christmas party in December. Confirmed date to follow. Please keep watching our bulletins and Facebook page as we will need your support for this event.

We will be posting Executive positions that require filling. Stay tuned. We would love to see some new faces on this committee.

We are in this together, more now than ever. Please post your business updates, support by liking and sharing a member’s posts, and most of all shop local and support our members by looking to them for products. And don’t forget those Google reviews, that’s what my business and families I serve depend on.
