Vice-President’s Message December 2023
Happy Holidays!
Wishing you all the joy and blessings of the holiday you celebrate with your family and friends. In our house, Christmas is the BIG DEAL! LOL. I love shopping for my kids and grandkids and local is the way to go.
So far, we’ve had some great weather – except for the odd day here and there – let’s hope it continues and you can all join us for our meeting on Dec. 13. We have a special treat in store for our Members!
Guests are always welcome at our meetings, and just for December, the fee will be $20. You’re going to love what you get – and hope it’s just what you wanted.
We are firm on our cutoff date of FRIDAY, DECEMBER 8th – Too many plans in place to add on – register early! Now, if you can’t make it, please let us know – we understand life gets in the way! Remember, last minute cancellations can result in expenses incurred by the OBWA. Try to get someone to come in your stead.

The restaurant will be following the Covid Protocol that is currently in place
at their establishment

Our RSVP numbers are submitted to Kelseys that day as they need to know
numbers for staffing
If you reserved your dinner spot and can’t attend please contact us right away so that
we can try and fill the spot with someone else that may be on a waiting list.
As always we welcome all women to the OBWA and we are encouraging our members
to bring a guest or two to our December meeting!
We have brought back some of our old traditions to our OBWA Dinner Meetings! Toonies for Toiletries where the money collected goes for hygiene products for those in need in the community
This December let’s show the Sharing Place our support as they are desperately in need of Donations. We will be collecting non-perishable food items and as well Clean Reusable Grocery Bags which we will donate to the Orillia Sharing Place.
As well we will be doing a 50/50 draw at each meeting!
Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
There will be an event charge of $5 for members and $10 for non members payable at the door

A resident of Orillia for most of her life Suzanne worked at a local jewelers for many years before changing to a career that gives people hope and love by fundraising for United Way Simcoe Muskoka. "Helping the less fortunate is something that motivates me every day and makes me appreciate my life".
She is the proud Grandmother to 5 grandchildren and 10 foster grandchildren that her daughter and son-in-law care for in Ohio.
Suzanne spoils her two fur babies Molson and Cinder, is the President of the Quota Club of Barrie, Orillia and area, who raise funds to help the deaf, hard of hearing and disadvantaged people.
7:20 p.m. – Show us your Ugly Christmas Sweater!
Judging will take place for the best Ugly Sweater so be sure to wear your Ugly Sweater
to our meeting!

Starting at our October meeting and running until September 2024 we will be honouring our OBWA members in good standing with Birthdays in that month. When you attend our Dinner Meeting the month of your Birthday we will waive your $5 event fee. Those having Birthdays in May, June, July and August will have their event fee waived accordingly. Please make sure you let Susan Zaroski know the month of your Birthday so she can get you on our Birthday Month list. She will be sitting at the door at the meeting to take the information from you or if you wish please e-mail your Birthday Month to Networking@OrilliaBusinessWomen.com
Please note: Memberships were due September 1st , 2023 & need to be paid for you to be a member in good standing. $100 membership fee will keep you a member in good standing until August 31,2024 . Members have the privilege of posting on social media & have their information about their business and themselves on our website as well as posting on Face Book. Non-members can attend meetings though without the other privileges. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact one of our executive members.
