MARCH 2017 - OBWA NETWORKING & DINNER MEETING

OBWA meets every second Wednesday of the Month (September thru June) at the Mariposa INN and Conference Centre on Memorial Drive Orillia for Networking, Fun, Food and to hear a wonderful Guest Speaker.
 

Samantha Ward
We are pleased to announce that March’s guest Speaker is Samantha Ward, BA and HBSW, is the Abuse Prevention Coordinator for the Child Advocacy Centre of SimcoeMuskoka.

Topic:  The Role of the Child Advocacy Centre as a community response to Child/Youth abuse

Samantha will be sharing the essential role of the Child Advocacy Centre in Orillia and area to provide service and support to children/youth who have experienced abuse.  An overview of the history, philosophy and model of an advocacy centre will be reviewed.  She highlight the comprehensive abuse CAC-logoprevention programming provided by the CAC.

A bit about Samantha:

Samantha Ward, BA and HBSW, is the Abuse Prevention Coordinator for the Child Advocacy Centre of Simcoe Muskoka.  She brings a wealth of knowledge, passion and experience to this position, with a specialization in sexual exploitation, domestic human trafficking, and over 12 years of experience working with children and youth. As the Abuse Prevention Coordinator, Samantha has taken the lead in Simcoe County in starting the conversation that many have been uncomfortable having.  Through a comprehensive abuse prevention program, Samantha promotes a heightened awareness of the opportunistic behaviour of child sex offenders, exposes the truth about child sexual exploitation and delivers proven strategies to protect our children and youth.

The OBWA meeting is held at the Best Western Mariposa Inn & CC
  Located at: 400 Memorial Ave. Orillia, Ontario  

 When: Wednesday, March 8, 2017
Networking: 5:30 – 6:15 pm – 
Introductions: 6:15 pm – Dinner: 6:30 pm – Speaker: 7:30 – 8:30 approx.

3 COURSE DINNER: $30 for members and first time guests, $37 for non-members

You must RSVP before Friday, March. 3rd by 3pm, please email us at reserve@orilliabusinesswomen.com

If you have any allergies or dietary preferences please let us know in your email at the time you RSVP.
IMPORTANT: Should you need to cancel your attendance for the OBWA dinner meeting, please do so by Monday, March 6, 2017 - 3pm. After this date, NO CANCELLATIONS will be accepted and you will be responsible for the cost of your missed dinner, we thank you for understanding.
