JANUARY 2018 - OBWA MEMBERS' SHOWCASE
 The Orillia Business Women’s Association (OBWA) meets every second Wednesday of the Month (September thru June) at the Best Western Mariposa INN and Conference Centre at 400 Memorial Ave. Orillia for Networking, Fun, Food and to hear a wonderful Guest Speaker.
OBWA PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Happy New Year! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and the opportunity to spend some time relaxing and enjoying family and friends, and some time to contemplate the past year. It is hard to believe that we are already in 2018. A new year and back to business. We are starting the new year in the OBWA with a full night of networking! This is a good time to really get to know what your fellow members sell or offer as a service. Some members will be showcasing their business. Make sure you bring your business cards to hand out. Now, are you a person who, at the beginning of a new year, makes a resolution? Do you set goals related to your business, your health, your family? Or do you wait to see what life brings? Our expectations and goals are not always met and sometimes life happens. The best we can do is to react in the most positive way possible when things don’t go our way. I found this quote quite relevant, “life is not what it's supposed to be. It is what it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference." Easy to say, not always easy to do. But, “you either get bitter or you get better. It’s that simple. You either take what has been dealt to you and allow it to make you a better person, or you allow it to tear you down. The choice does not belong to fate, it belongs to you”- Josh Shipp. So, take a few moments to sit silently and realize how wonderful your life truly is, even if it doesn’t always feel that way.
