JANUARY 2019 - OBWA MEMBERS' SHOWCASE
 The Orillia Business Women’s Association (OBWA)
meets every second Wednesday of the Month
(September thru June) at the
Best Western Mariposa INN and Conference Centre
at 400 Memorial Ave. Orillia
for networking events, fun and delicious food.
OBWA PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
A new year is on the horizon. Are you ready? Are there things that you did this past year that you will continue to do or are changes in your future plans? This year as in years past has definitely had ups and downs. Personally I am looking forward to 2019. At the OBWA we look forward to helping you make this year a banner year starting off with our 2nd Annual Business Showcase on January 9. This is an event that has been well received. At this event you will see what many members have to offer as far as products and/or services. We will have approximately 26 members participating. Hopefully, you have all shared the event on Facebook or through emails and personal invitations since we are again opening the doors to the public. This will allow them to see what the OBWA members have to offer. You are encouraged to post about your business on the face book event. At our last executive meeting we covered a lot of ground and an issue that has arisen a few times over the past year was the infomercial that some members wanted to continue. So, to accommodate those members, we are having an open mic period after the dinner in January to those who don’t have a table. You will have two minutes to tell us about you and your business. We want as many members as possible to participate at this dinner meeting. We want a lot of sharing of information. We want to know about you. Of course, we will be enjoying a delicious dinner as usual. I encourage you to read the entire bulletin as it contains necessary information to make your dinner meeting the best possible. Also, be involved on the OBWA Facebook group. Share your information and interact with other members. You will see we have a new format which we are hoping will generate more interaction from all members. In closing, here is a great quote from Alex Morritt, “new year — a new chapter, new verse, or just the same old story? Ultimately we write it. The choice is ours”.

Karen Layne, Muskoka Smoke Shop: 7:15 p.m. - 7:20 p.m.
Buffet Dinner/Networking (for members only): 6:30 p.m -8:30 p.m.

For the members who are NOT showcasing their products/services,
you WILL have the opportunity to come up to the microphone and do a 2 minute introduction
around you and what you offer.

of money or personal hygiene aids for women
that are then donated to a different charity in need
on behalf of our wonderful group of women!
