President’s Message

How is everyone doing? We are now about two months into the Covid-19 pandemic. It has definitely been a challenge and I am sure you have made many accommodations to do what used to be easy. I hope you are able to modify your business practices to generate some income. Remember to post on the facebook group page with any wants or needs and with information on your business. Also, connect with the members if you can help them out. We are all here to help as best we can.

Our OBWA zoom meeting in April went well. There were only twelve in attendance but we were able to connect and chat and share. We are going ahead with another zoom meeting to replace our May meeting. It will be held May 13 at 7pm. We will try to keep it to one hour and we will follow an agenda (see below). It will be as close to a regular meeting as possible to help keep you informed.

At the executive meeting we discussed many issues one of which was the vacancy in the executive that will occur in June. We will need you to send your application to networking@orilliabusinesswomen.com if you are interested in the position of membership coordinator. Please consider taking on this role. This is your chance to be a more integral part of this wonderful group.

We are still working hard on the Woman and Young Woman of the Year preparations. We will follow the guidelines set by the mayor and council of Orillia as to when we can host the celebratory event and will keep you posted. Please share the poster of the nominees via social media. We want to spread the word and show support for all the nominees. It will also keep people aware of what the OBWA does within the community for women.
