Hello Ladies!!!

I hope everyone is doing well. October has arrived bringing the beautiful fall colours but also the rain and cold, brrr.  School has begun for many and I hope your friends and relatives are faring well, settling into a routine.

Your OBWA Executive continues to work towards us meeting in person in November and preparing for a small Gala Event in December.   Many thanks to Sheila Haiden, Shelle Hossack, Susan Zaroski,  Andrea Sullivan, Ronda Hales, and Leah Cavanaugh.

Sheila Haiden (VP) and I met with Ruth Howorth from the Mariposa Best Western PLUS and feel very comfortable about all the precautions they have put in place for us to have a dinner meeting and celebration.

An 8 person table will only sit 3 now to give distance.  Masks are expected to be worn unless you are drinking or eating.  Serving  may look a little different.  They can still accommodate  50 persons in the large room where we typically have our dinner meetings.  Meals served have been reviewed and we are excited about some new options their chef will prepare for us. So, please note that we are looking at possibly offering a dinner meeting in November but we also understand it’s a matter of your comfortability and respect your decision whether you choose to attend or not.  Another poll will be put out on Facebook.  If a November dinner is a no go we will continue to offer Zoom meetings each month.

Our intended date for the Gala is Wednesday December 9, at the Mariposa Best Western PLUS.  It will be a scaled back event of course, but keeping with tradition, a lovely event to celebrate our brilliant Young Woman and Woman of the Year Nominees. Please keep watching our bulletins and Facebook page for updates.  We will not be able to do our popular prize draws this year but please consider sponsoring this fabulous event.  

We continue to have positions available on our Executive Committee.  Membership Coordinator, Event Coordinator and Social Media Coordinator.  Please email us your interest and we will connect to  review the positions with you.   We would love to see some new faces on this committee.

We are in this together, more now than ever.  Please post your business updates, support by liking and sharing a member’s posts, and most of all shop local and support our members by looking to them for products.  And don’t forget those Google reviews, that’s what my business and families I serve depend on.
