Cam Shilling, in his final year of junior lacrosse, had his finest season for this year's edition of the Orillia Kings. For the first time in his four seasons, he played all 20 regular-season games and managed a career high in points with 20 goals and 38 assists. He finished second to veteran Matthew Campbell in team scoring. Shilling was one of the team's leaders this season in its turnaround year in which the Kings compiled a 10-9-1 record after five straight one-win seasons. Sunday night, during the team's first playoff game since 2010, Shilling was honoured as the Dapper Depot Player of the Year for the Kings. Dapper Depot owner Steve Orr has been a long-time supporter of the Kings. After each home game the past three years, he has provided a $100 gift certificate to the Kings' player of the game. Shilling, who amassed 147 points in 60 games during his four seasons with the Kings, was presented with a $500 gift certificate to the downtown store in recognition of his efforts this season.
