Suzanne Prosser - United Way
A resident of Orillia for most of her life Suzanne worked at a local jewelers for many years before changing to a career that gives people hope and love by fundraising for United Way Simcoe Muskoka. "Helping the less fortunate is something that motivates me every day and makes me appreciate my life".
She is the proud Grandmother to 5 grandchildren and 10 foster grandchildren that her daughter and son-in-law care for in Ohio.
Wishing you all the joy and blessings of the holiday you celebrate with your family and friends. In our house, Christmas is the BIG DEAL! LOL. I love shopping for my kids and grandkids and local is the way to go.
So far, we've had some great weather – except for the odd day here and there – let's hope it continues and you can all join us for our meeting on Dec. 13. We have a special treat in store for our Members!
The summer isn't quite over but September is fast approaching and that means "back to business" for the OBWA. You can find the details of our Business Dinner Meeting on the facebook page and group page and also on the website. Remember that ALL women are welcome to attend whether in business or not. We could not have had three more inspiring young women from the Orillia High Schools be represented for the 2023 Lisa Brooking Young Woman of the Year. They are truly remarkable and have already made a difference in our communities and will no doubt continue to do so in the future. Our OBWA 2023 Woman of the Year and Young Woman of the Year Gala Dinner & Awards Night was a huge success. The Best Western PLUS Mariposa Inn & Conference Centre went beyond our expectations with the venue and menu. We were able to show our thanks and our support, along with many community members, to 6 amazing women from our communities. Kim Kneeshaw is our 2023 Nelle Carter Woman of the Year.
