The Rotary Club of Orillia would like to thank Dawn Patterson & Marg Goodchild for the wonderful presentation they did on May 17th about the non-profit organization Days for Girls Canada. Dawn & Marg have a registered team here in Orillia and they get together to sew handmade washable quality Feminine Hygiene products to make kits with accompanying education that will be distributed around the word. They work hard to change lives for girls and women around the globe. During their presentation they expressed the need to have a Die Cutting Machine to facilitate the tasks involved to cut all the material to make these washable sanitary products. The members of the Rotary Orillia Satellite Club got together and each pitched in to raise enough money for the ladies to walk out of the meeting that same day to purchase the Die Cutting Machine!!! The Club also presented the ladies with a certificate that says that 30 Polio vaccine inoculations were donated on their behalf to help Rotary reach the goal of eradication Polio around the word. The Days for Girls organization’s Mission is: “Creating a more dignified, free and educated world through access to lasting feminine hygiene solutions.’ For more information got to: www.daysforgirls.org If you wish to help make kits or donate please contact Dawn Patterson at orilliaon@daysforgirls.org 705-345-2640.
