As the days are getting longer and our need for more sunshine and fresh air is increasing perhaps it is time to try some “outdoors’ meditation. You can practice a simple exercise of mindful observation, designed to connect us with the beauty of the natural environment. Pick a natural organism in your immediate vicinity, a flower, a bug, a tree a dew drop. (We chose snow….perhaps because we are hoping it will soon be a distant memory) Focus on just watching it for a minute or two. Imagine that you are seeing this thing for the very first time and explore every aspect of this glorious thing. Take in the visual, the scent, the sound; connect with the purpose of this organism and know it’s role in the world. Allow yourself to to just be…to just notice….
