WOW! I had the Jerk Wings and they were the BEST jerk wings I have ever had. The flavor was exactly what I have been searching for and on point. The same with the jerk chicken meal, and the coleslaw was the icing on the cake. No need to head south anymore for Jamaican Style food for me. Definitely give this spot a try. - Ryan
Wish this Person would serve mostley Jamaican chicken soup. Need a lot of request on people who come in say they would realey want it and jamaican food dinners like jamaican cury chicken with rice and peas not just jerk chicken . I cant eat that sweet ribs they have. way to much sugar. And serve food with out smoking all the meat and all that sweet sauce on it .And serve oxtail with rice and peas. And oxtail Gravy . And all Jamaican food would be Grate
Had a party catered... food was amazing, everyone raved about it! Cheddie delivered Jerk Chicken and Pork, Smoked Chicken, Rice and Peas and Coleslaw. Will be going back for dinners often!
Went here for a quick lunch at 1:30pm, worse take out experience I've had in quite sometime. We were informed they had no rice "until tomorrow", so asked for double potato as my 2 sides. The potatoes were horrendously cold, hard and some were previously undercooked. The menu online says the meal for jerk chicken comes with 1/2 chicken with 2 sides for $19.99. I was charged (after tax) $25.98... thats an extra $3.40!! How??? What I actually got was 1/4 of a chicken, barely any meat on it. This was honestly the most disappointing experiencing for take out... just for the food to be served on a styrofoam plate. I would never recommend. Also the prep area was quite flithy, should have been the first red flag. As a chef, I would recommend clean as you go., fix your pricing and be sure the food is up to temperature.
Stopped by the shack eatery today for lunch and the food was so good! The pulled chicken was amazing, the Mac and cheese even had a little kick to it. The staff were so lovely! I will come again for sure
Most disgusting meal I've ever had ordered through skip and you sent me the sloppiest grossest pulled porked I've ever tried mac and cheese that was rock hard and mash potatoes that were so lumpy I thought it had cancer
Worst food I have EVER had….our burgers were raw inside & had a dreadful flavour, the club house sandwich was on a soggy hamburger bun with 1 curled piece of bacon & soaked in ranch dressing & the sausage was smothered in BBQ sauce & the forgot the cheese in the Mac n cheese, it was literally a mountain of plain noodles. Sickening, I would rather go hungry then ever eat at this dive again
Great reasonable priced food. Had the pull pork on a bun and fries. Wish there was more fries. Hubby had chicken and ribs. He loved them. Had roasted potatoes that where fantastic and coleslaw that was really good as well. I highly recommend this place. Fast service and friendly people. We will definitely eat there again.
So disappointed. Ordered Take Out and was excited about ordering as reviews are outstanding. Ordered 1/4 Jerk and Chicken Club. It was not even warm. I understand during these trying times it is hard to prepare fresh..but come on..try to present your product to entice someone to come back when you in full swing. Bun was not even toasted?! 4 dry bits of chicken. Rice was cold and Jerk was not even crispy..maybe it could have been if it was warm. We will try again. But just 1 more. Please also remember for pick up orders to include napkins and a fork!
At first food was great. Nice size portions Now the flavour is different the portions are ridiculously small I paid 1650 plus tax 4 2.2 oz of chicken half a potato and two scoops of rice not a good way to run a business in this small town I would not recommend this to anybody In this town word-of-mouth is is gold
Ordered the club sandwich for dinner, very disappointed the chicken was cold.
Flavor was good, but from a smokehouse I would have expected a nice hot smokey chicken with some sort of seasoning. Something a little more than cold chicken, iceberg lettuce, hot house tomato and mayo on a bun.
I just ordered a pulled pork sandwich from here and it was 100% the best one I've ever had! The service is great, the restaurant smells amazing and the food does not disappoint at all! I will be a return customer for sure!
Had the jerk chicken meal tonight for dinner. It’s was tender and flavourful. Not spicy, but really good. The rice and peas with the sauce over top was delicious. Not a huge fan of coleslaw, but loved yours! Even your fries had a yummy seasoning on them. It was my first visit, but won’t be my last.
My 1st time there was on Saturday. Not Happy at all. My pulled chicken sandwich was over spiced with poultry seasoning, greasy to the point where bun was soggy. Mac and cheese looked like it was made a week ago as it was all clumped together and dry. Fries where soggy as I think they were sitting under a heat lamp for awhile. Only good item I had was coleslaw. I wasnt about to return to complain as I was already home with the takeout order. It should never had been served in the first place.

Abel (the owner) agreed to donate a meal for a charitable program at Lakehead University, serving 20+ people. He was extremely generous and donated an outstanding meal to the program of pulled pork, pulled chicken, smoked sausage, Portugese chicken, The Shack rice, and roasted potatoes. He's truly a community supporter! Additionally, the food he donated was amazing! The portions were huge, and it was all served hot and extremely fresh. The spices were just right. I would absolutely recommend the Shack Eatery.
The food here seams to makes us drive to orillia randomly often. Staff is amazing and will treat you like your their personal friends. The reason we enjoy this food is, try and find real bbq in orillia with a really good price. Lunch at Montana's will run 2 people around $35 to $40 if not more and is nooooo shack experience or shack prices.
This place is one of my favourite places to eat. Every single time I have been in there, not only are the staff absolutely incredible and personable, the food is out of this world. I am legitimately upset every time my meal comes to an end. I would eat this everyday. Mondays jerk chicken is the best jerk chicken ive ever eaten, wish it was everyday :)! Keep it up guys!
Stopped in for lunch in the middle of a long drive. Fantastic pulled chicken sandwich. It was big, drippy and delicious. I didn't order sides, but they looked great, too. Friendly owners, and great Canadian music playing in the background. My only suggestion would be to get rid of the styrofoam take out trays and go for something biodegradable.

Our first time here. WOW!!! The food is fantastic. The perfect amount of spice and meat. Nothing overpowers each other but enhances your flavour experience with this food. Leaves you wanting more as you salivate over every morsel. What a truly fantastic meal. This place is the absolute top notch place to eat!!! A true diamond in the rough.
A wonderful flavour change to our city.I always order the beef plate and cant help finishing the whole plate its so good even though im stuffed.A great portion size..The staff is friendly,welcoming and fun music always playing inside.You cant go wrong with this place.
I went for the first time tonight. Great group of staff there to help out. We had two quarter chicken dinners with potatoes, rice and slaw. Really enjoyed it, will be back soon

Simply outstanding!!! I have gone up and down the menu and tried everything...it is all fantastic! The only complaint I have is that it is so hard to choose because there is not a bad choice on the menu. A must try for those that haven't yet.
Stopped in last weekend for the first time with my sis in law. Loved the feel of it from the outside and the scent of bbq was drawing us in. The fun decor set the scene. Service was beyond nice!! The food spectacular especially the coleslaw and basil aioli!! We both had the pulled pork on a bun, super juicy and great smoky taste. Yummmm hands down!
The Shack is easily one of my favourite latest go-to restaurants over the past just under a year now.. Coming up on a year. I love the service, wonderful people, amazing food of course. I highly recommend it ALL but if I had to pick a particular item, I would say you couldn't go wrong with the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw. At The Shack, your money goes a long way, I can not stress that enough, very great value and you get a great amount of food for your money too!
On the recommendation from my nephew, my brother and I stopped at the Shack Eatery for lunch last October. What a delightful experience! We both had a Bifona and fries. I have had many a Bifona, before in Cambridge ON. But this was different, it knocked my socks off! The meat was tender and juicy and I am drooling, just thinking about my next visit to Orillia!
Seating is minimal but the food & service makes up for lack of seating ten fold!! I am very particular about ribs & The Shack Eatery didn't disappoint. They were fall off the bone, juicy, saucy, need extra napkins DELICIOUS! Paired with the coleslaw & beans, you will need a wheelbarrow to be taken to your vehicle. Can't get enough!!

Had jerk chicken Wednesday night for my supper break at work was absolutely delicious would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone . Will be back to try other foods on your menu keep up the great cooking ??
Fantastic food at fantastic prices. Generous helpings and friendly staff. Not much seating be prepared to take out. The coleslaw is to die for! Secret recipe I'm told. Don't miss out on this one if you're in Orilla!
If you want great home cooked food then you definitely have to try The Shack out!!!! The food is amazing, and the service is outstanding!!!! Definitely my absolute favourite place to eat!!! If your in the area you should definitely try it out you won't be disappointed!!!!!
First time there with my husband. He's been a few times. We both had the Bitoque sandwich. Omg it was amazing and messy! Paired it with the rice which was also very tasty. Very friendly service as well. Prices are great too! Keep up the good work! I'll be back for sure!
It is hard to stay away from this place. We have been there 3 times so far..Pretty bad when son dreams about their pulled pork lol. The reason we go back, is the food is so good and freshly made every day..The staff are so nice and great at what they do..please don't change a thing.... :o)

This is my husband Frank's and mine favorite new spot to go out for a bite! We go about once a week The Shack Eatery is Family owned and operated. We Love how friendly Miguel, Todd and Able are. They are always treating us like family. I almost always order their ribs and Frank their cod fish. I just Love their wings when they are on the menu they are truly Amazing! Try The Shack out for yourself and get a taste of some excellent Portuguese dishes!
Amazing!! Such incredible food for such a fantastic price! I had the chicken sandwich combo and my husband had the chicken plate. Both were so tasty and nice and spicy. Such lovely people working there, we will be back many many times!!
Amazing people. Amazing food. It is an absolute joy to come here! Very reasonable prices and value for your money too. My favourite, so far, has been the pulled pork (with coleslaw) and I really like the parisian potatoes too!
