Since I was a kid, I have always loved wearing flip flops. They give me some sunshine in my life, so brightly coloured!! What do you do to stay positive? Life can through some major punches our way, as women we are resilient, its the name of the game to get up and keep plugging. My Women Helping Women interview series on You Tube, this week which will be highlighting my interview with Liz Westcott, Executive Director of Greenhaven Women's Shelter in my hometown of Orillia, (Ontario, Canada). As some of you may know I am inspired by John C. Maxwell and listen to his inspiration daily. Today his statement of strength spoke to me. The statement speaks to me as a business owner and a person who only a few years ago, channeled my fear and started my own business, following my dream. Not an easy feat of which I am so proud of having a backbone.
John's statement of strength was: We need a backbone, not a wishbone." By Joyce Meyer
He goes onto say, the reason we love to dream is because we do not have to pay the price... more

"Hug Your Cat Day was June 4. Go ahead and give your cat a big, furry hug. If you are a cat lover, you can really appreciate the warm, cozy feeling you get when you curl up on a couch or chair and hug your cat. People say cats are standoffish but not in my experience. The more you hug your cat the more they are going to love it. Here in my community our OSPCA are advertising a cat or kitten weekly. Despite COVID-19 cats are still needing homes. You don't have a cat? You can correct this today. The month of June is also "Adopt a Cat... more

One of the daily quotes that John C. Maxwell talked about recently was said by Peace Pilgrim, If you realized how powerful your thoughts are you would never think a negative thought."
Is it realistic to not have negative thoughts? But is it possible to stop negative thinking? It is continually thinking that makes it thinking. That is the difference.
I am really excited to announce that my Women Helping Women" interviews begin this weekend, part one of four parts in June, introducing Ginny Gane of Live Your... more

Flower of the month of June is the Rose. A red rose signifies love. A June setting for the Rose is very appropriate, as this is by far the most popular month for weddings. And, they are in bloom in the gardens at this time.
So popular is the rose there are meanings for each colour of rose. A red rose represents love, beauty, passion, courage, and respect. A white rose represents silence or secrecy, reverence, and humility. A pink rose means appreciation, grace, perfect happiness, and admiration. A yellow rose represents joy,... more

To kick start June, this week is National Gardening Week, a perfect way to spend time outdoors and is befitting of June as all the flowers come into bloom. It is both a celebration, and an educational opportunity. National Gardening Week celebrates one of summer's most popular hobbies. Tens of millions of people, young and old, grow a garden of some size. It is a great opportunity to get outdoors and tend to nature, along with enjoying your garden's peacefulness and beauty. Regardless of whether your garden is big or small, show it off to... more

John C. Maxwell's post today was a quote from Brendon Burchard. He said,
"Doubt increases with inaction. Clarity reveals itself in momentum. Growth comes from progress. For all these reasons BEGIN."
John explained this statement this way. What is the difference between a jigsaw puzzle and Life?
With a puzzle we look at the picture on the box cover to help us complete the puzzle.
With Life, the picture only becomes clear as we put the pieces together
Hello all friends and family: I found this video on the proper way to don your mask and gloves and remove them. Working in health care for many years we were taught this annually. I cringe seeing what people are doing with their masks and gloves. My biggest peeve is walking through the grocery store parking lot seeing used gloves on the ground. Please dispose of your used PPE and protect others by doing so. Stay well and safe, love and light.
With worldwide concerns and COVID-19 and the world we are learning to call normal, reading about World no Tobacco Day, it seems unimportant and a little surreal, to what we have been living through these past months. It is relevant and it would be nice if every day were a No Tobacco Day!? I believe that day will come.
May 31 will be World No Tobacco Day. This day brings awareness of the health issues and dependency issues related to tobacco use. World No Tobacco Day stresses the importance of making people all over the world... more
