After graduating from the University of Guelph in 1974, I, Dave Hewitt started farming at the age of 19 with my father and brother. In 1976 I married Estelle. With the help of Estelle, our three children, Kevin, Derek and Krystal and our staff, we have grown this 3rd generation Hewitt family farm into several successful enterprises, starting with the farm that specializes in grain corn, soy beans and beef cows. Then came Hewitt Country Meats,our own butcher shop that proudly supplies Ontario corn fed beef, pork and home grown whole chickens. Also around the same time as the Meat, Dave found a demand for snow removal, so in 1981 he started the Snowblowing Services, which now offers professional snow clearing for all of Orillia and some surrounding areas. After that came Dave’s Homemade Beef Jerky, a tasty snack that offers a unique flavour and texture to satisfy your craving for a healthy snack. Now Dave’s Homemade Beef Jerky can be found in most parts of Ontario.

After many years of success, we continue to deliver quality meats, mouth watering Beef Jerky, outstanding customer satisfaction in the snow removal services and the farm produces quality corn, soy beans and beef for Ontario families..

Now our kids “The next generation” are helping ensure our continued success by providing fresh new ideas in marketing our fine line up of quality products and services. Kevin is a Licensed Heavy Equipment Mechanic, he will be providing online Beef Jerky Sales, Derek is Licensed Electrician, he will be operating a tractor and snowblower and learning more about the snow business, and Krystal is a Wildlife Biologist and is a self proclaimed Beef Jerky tasting expert.
