EDUCATION

I have my Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics from Saint Francis Xavier University. During my final two years of University I was a student athletic therapist, working specifically with the men’s football team. My time at STFX and with the football team reinforced my passion for rehabilitation and health.

After completing my undergrad I continued my education at the National Academy of Osteopathy, graduating with my Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice. I did my Manual Osteopathy placement at the BioHealth Solutions Clinic in Markham, Ontario as well as at the NAO school location in Toronto, Ontario. 

I discovered the healing powers of Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field (PEMF) therapy through a family friend. I was then introduced to the PEMF Canadian trainer at her Clinic in Sudbury, Ontario. After seeing first hand the amazing results of this type of therapy I knew it was something I had to make available to my future patients.  I purchased the PEMF120 and completed the full training program making me one of only two practitioners in Ontario with this caliber of machine. 

PERSONAL

I grew up just North of Orillia on Sparrow Lake where my family owns and operates Bayview Wildwood Resort. My family has run the resort for the past 118 years making me the sixth generation of my family to be a part of the business. I spent most of my childhood at the Resort as well as working there for over 10 years. Growing up at the Resort showed me the type of safe and friendly atmosphere I want to create in my future business.

I am a people person who is positive and loves to laugh. I've always had a desire to help others. Through life experiences, I found the best way for me to do that was by using my knowledge and passion of natural alternative treatments. These treatments help people live life pain free and to the fullest without relying on medications or having to go through invasive surgery. I truly love what I do and I'm extremely excited to help people on their healthcare journey. 

What is Manual Osteopathy? 

Manual osteopathy is a holistic and natural form of manual medicine founded on the belief that each structure in the body is connected to form a functional unit. As manual osteopaths, we use hands on techniques to correct restrictions within the body that occur due to injury, overuse and illness. When the body is free of restrictions it has the ability to heal itself. We assist in restoring and maintaining patients mobility, structural stability, and optimal body function. We work to decrease pain and discomfort and lower the risk of future injuries, allowing patients to improve their overall quality of life.

What is Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field ?

If your body is out of balance or injured then your cells become sick and lose the energy needed to heal themselves. The PEMF is able to jump start the body's cells by inducing electrical changes within the cell that restores it to it's normal healthy state. The PEMF builds up the energy within your cells resulting in improved cell oxygenation and alkalization, circulation of nutrients and oxygen, expulsion of waste and toxins from cells, and cell regeneration. This allows the body and its major organs to detoxify, strengthens joints and bones, boosts the immune system, and relaxes the nervous system. Overall, the PEMF gives the cells more fuel to be efficient, increasing the body's own capacity to heal itself.
