The members/volunteers of The Comfie Cat Shelter believe in helping cats in need. If accepted, cats surrendered by their owners must be defleaed
and vaccinated. Cats that have been rescued or accepted from people who are no longer able to care for them, are given veterinary care and medication when required. Cats and older kittens are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Kittens too young to be spayed/neutered come with a $50 certificate to be refunded when proof of spay/neuter is shown.
Until recently all of the cats were kept in foster homes until permanent homes could be found for them. The foster homes are screened for their ability to give quality care and a loving environment to the cats or kittens.
While we continue to use foster homes when needed, we now have a location at 48 Front St. S. in Orillia and we invite the public to make an appointment at (705) 326-1545 to visit and meet the cats for adoption.
